10 Things to do in Quarantine
Besides all the tragedy and worldwide
stress of this covid-19, we are grudging over lockdown situation. Here, we are
not talking about the benefits or problems due to lockdown. We are not even
considering the future aspects of it. Instead, I am going to talk about ‘today’.
With all due respect to the situations we are all surrounded by, let’s get the
mind lighter. Because, tomorrow is not in our hands. We might end up with
corona or live last up to our natural death. Why not, to focus on today?
The basic scene in all of our homes is
similar. We are waking up late, eating food, taking naps from our ‘watching
some shit over internet’ work, eating again and sleeping, Right?
This is how you spend your fake leave? I
know, you can’t go out but I am saying ‘can’t you get up?’
Okay, I am making you feel disgusting but,
we all got bored staying home now. We don’t know what to do. So, here I am,
helping you out with few options that would work.
1. Make your house, a co- working
space.
Don’t worry, I am not
asking you to rent it out. I am asking to help each other. Since, the
housemaids and other helping hands are also in quarantine. Someone in the house
have to do all the cleaning, dusting, washing utensils, washing clothes,
cooking and what not.
If your mother, wife,
daughter is doing it for you, try to help them. Your time will pass and they
will be happy to have you with help. It’s not that difficult to keep a women
happy, believe me!
2. Get back in touch.
All your friends, far
family are just a click away. Call them. Ask them, how are they. Gossip with
them. In all our working days, we don’t really miss the past. But, in such
days, we do miss them. Call and get back in touch with all of such people in
your life. They would also be missing you. But who will call first? Why don’t you
do it!
3. Talk to each other.
Yes. Both of these points
are different. You are family living together. In the quarantine, many of you
are living back with your parents our children. Due to work force, we migrate
somewhere. It’s the correct time to talk to each other. Leave all the bitter past
and try loving them again. After all, Family that stays together, not just live
together, share- talk together.
Share the happiness,
sorrows, your strengths and weaknesses with them. They will share back with
you. This Quarantine, your bond will be stronger than ever, I promise.
4. Sing / listen music.
Yes. We do this on regular
days too. But, try to do it all alone. Get that window sit in your home. Get
your device. And play the music you wanted to from long time. But you couldn’t.
For example, I always wanted to hear the classical flute. Nobody listen to it
loud now a days. In the traffic or tiring brain don’t allow listening it. Now
is the time, I can do it all with peace. What’s your favorite music? Comment me

5. Do workout.
You are locked up in home
for 21 days. You are either working from home or making others work for you at
home. Walking from bedroom to living and living to dining is not an activity.
Be active. The lethargy you get when you do nothing is dangerous. Do workout. I
am not asking to make a whole gym in home. I am asking to do simple things you
can do in home itself. Do Suryanamskar. Do yoga, do meditation, do dancing! And
if you really miss the gym, you can get two bottles of 1 liter water and start
your weight training too.
6. Play indoor games.
Are you feeling these days
are as if summer holidays? Well, thinking might not wrong. Summer is up and
lockdown is holiday. You can play some of the games like playing cards, UNO
cards, Carrom board, chess, and many traditional games you used to play. Teach
your children how to play these games. Video games are option too. But how much
time do you want to spend on screens? So, play with each other, play physically,
cheat and beat each other, that’s total fun!
7. Cook.
Again, as we discussed,
our house helping hands would not be in our homes for next few days. No guests
would arrive suddenly. This is the time you and your family can experiment
almost anything. Why not cooking? Try to surf your favorite dish on the
internet. Prepare yourself to get into kitchen and do it. Your family will be
surprised with your talent OR you will fail. Nothing else will happen. Give it
a try. Cooking all by yourself is so much entertaining, time testing and a lot
of learning included. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
God is a creator. You
know, in some mythology, it is said, ‘god had lot of time; so, he created
humans for his entertainment.’ Is it true? I mean, does god also get bored?
Jokes a part. But think na, is creating something is entertaining? Well, my
answer is yes! It is! Creating a new art, a piece of craft, creating food,
creating a plant that grows, creating a child that gets old, aren’t these are the
happy things to do? Of course yes! So, get that doodling book you created
sitting on the last bench out, and start it over again.
9. Read/ write
You will judge me as old
school, but yes, this is my favorite time pass. I guess, if you are reading
this blog, and came that long, you do like reading too. What is holding you
back? Find it out, throw it away and start reading and then writing. This is
the perfect time you could finish reading all of your ‘want to read’ long list.
Buying is not possible, borrow it. Read which you already have. Write the
summaries. Write your own content. Give that passion a new direction.
10. Spice it up.
Are you bored? Don’t tell
me, because of my blog. That will be rude ha. I am writing this to keep you
alive even in the period of quarantine. So, yes. This time, Spice it up! Here,
I ask you to get that one challenge, you did never. And accomplish that
challenge! For example, I never watered our house garden, I will do it for next
few days. Or I never made a craft, I will learn origami from my son. Every person
will have different ‘I never’. Try to spice up your life with the things you
missed doing in your before life. It will not only spice up your feelings, also
your lifestyle.

many options now. You can also brainstorm for more things to do in quarantine.
